Our award-winning training, development and mentoring programmes for Artis Specialists shows our commitment to excellent education and assures the quality of our services. Before work in schools can begin, every Artis Specialist takes part in an intensive residential course, with sessions led by some of the country's leading performing artists and education experts. This training allows Artis Specialists to add to their repertoire of performance skills, but just as important for schools it strongly embeds the generic techniques required for working with groups of children. As a result our Artis Specialists come well prepared for school life.
Our training does not stop there. Every year our Artis Specialists come together to take part in five days of professional development. To keep a high quality of service and give further support to every Artis team member, we also provide mentoring. This comprises regular observations in schools, weekly coaching and supervision through one-to-one meetings and group sessions. This contact helps Artis Specialists share their experiences and learn new and different ways of igniting children’s imaginations.
